Can we get caught in storms?

I was really scared there would be big storms. But my parents always looked at the weather forecast before sailing and also could hear the weather forecast, though the VHF (a walky talky look alike) at sea. Of cause we have sailed through stormed, but we there was never a time it was dangerous. These moments weren’t always fun, but it did gave me confidence in the boat. If your parents will keep an eye on the weather forecast before they leave the harbor. And if it happens you are in a storm and your parents will act a certain way, it will not be dangerous.
